Sahih Muslim, hadith 5955:
A'isha reported that the Prophet (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) went out one morning wearing a striped cloak of black camel's hair, then there came al-Hasan ibn 'Ali. He sheltered al-Hasan with it, then came al-Husain and he sheltered him with it along with al-Hasan. Then came Fatima and he took her under it, then came 'Ali and he also took him under it, and then said: "Allah truly desires to take away any impurities from you, O members of the Household, and to purify you with perfect purification".
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 57, Number 51:
The Prophet (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) said, "Tomorrow, I will give the Army flag to a man with whose leadership Allah will grant (the Muslims) victory." So the people kept on thinking the whole night as to who would be given the flag. The next morning the people went to the Messenger of Allah and every one of them hoped that he would be given the flag. the Prophet (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) asked, "Where is Ali ibn Abi Talib?" The people replied, "He is suffering from eye illness, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Send for him and bring him to me." So when 'Ali came, the Prophet spat in his eyes and invoked blessings on him, and he was immediately cured as if he had no ailment. the Prophet (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) then gave Ali the flag."
Sahih Tirmizi, Book 49, Hadith 4078:
the Prophet (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) said: "For whomever I am his Mawla (master and ally) then 'Ali is also his Mawla (master and ally)."
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal:
Hadhrat Abu Zharr (Radhi Allahu Anhu) while holding the Door of the Ka'ba, said that he had heard the Holy Prophet (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) say, "My Ahlul Bayt among you are like Noah's Ark. He who boards it will be safe, but he who holds back from it will perish."
Sahih Tirmizi:
Hadrat Zaid ibn Arqam (Radhiya Allahu 'Anhu) said Allah's Messenger (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) said of Ali, Fatima, al-Hasan and al-Husain, "I am war with one who makes war on them and I am peace to one who has peace with them."
In Sahih Muslim;
on the authority of Amer ibn Sa'ad ibn Abi Waqas, on the authority of his father may Allah be pleased with him, said: Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan ordered Sa'ad and said: What prevents you from swearing at Abu Turab (Ali ibn Abu Talib)? Sa'ad said: "I would never do so for three things I heard from the Messenger of Allah (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt), if I were given one of them, it would be much dearer to me than the best of wealth: One, I heard the Messenger of Allah (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) say to Ali when the Prophet appointed him as governor of Madina instead of taking him for one of the battles: "Would you not be pleased that you are to me like Harun was to Moses, yet there is no prophet after me?'' The second one, I heard the Messenger say on the Battle of Khyber: "I will give the Banner (of conquest) to a man who truly loves Allah and His Messenger", so all of us aspired to be that man; then he said said: "Call 'Ali for me"; when Ali came he was sore-eyed. The Messenger spat in his eyes and gave him the Banner and next day Allah opened Khyber for us. The third one was when the holy verse of Quran was revealed (Say, let us call our children and your children...) (aal Imran: 61), the Messenger of Allah (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) called Ali, Fatima and Hasan and Husain and said: "O Allah, these are my family."
Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal relates on the authority of Um Salama, the Prophet's wife, that the Holy Messenger (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) said to Fatima one day:
"Come with your husband and two sons to me". When they all gathered together the Messenger (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) spread over them his mantle kisaa, and laid his hand over them and prayed: ''O Allah, these are the people of the House (Ahlul Bayt) of Muhammad! Let Your prayers and blessings descend upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad; for You are worthy of all Praise and Glory.'' Um Salama continued: 'I then lifted the mantle to enter in with them, but he pulled it away from my hand saying, “No, but you too shall be granted a good end”.
Abu Nuaim narrated in Hilytatul awliya, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Masood said: "I was with the Prophet (Blessings be upon him and his Ahlul-Bayt) when someone asked him about Ali ibn Abi Talib, so he replied: "Wisdom has been divided into ten parts and Ali has been given nine parts of it while all other people share one part". It has also been reported by Imam Al Mottaqi Alhindi in Kanzul ummal and added the Prophet's saying: "and Ali even knows this one part better than them."
From the miracles of Sayyiduna Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him:
It was narrated that Sayyiduna Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib and his two sons, Imam al-Hasan and Imam al-Husain, peace be upon them, heard a man crying in the dead of the night:
O One who answers the prayer of those in need when they call you in the darkness if the night ...
O You who removes harm and calamity when they fall
The visitors of Your House slept and then woke up again ...
but the Eye of Your Grace never slept, O Powerful One
Through Your Grace give me the favour of pardon of my sins ...
O You whose pardon is sought by Your slaved in the Holy Mosque
If Your pardon cannot be sought by the wrongdoers,
then who will offer grace over the sinners?!
Imam Ali said to one of his sons: "Go bring me this man." When the man came in his presence, he was dragging one of his sides (half his body paralysed). Imam Ali said to him: I have heard your speech, what happened to you? The man said: Some time ago, I was totally engaged in music and sins, and my father always warned me against this and would say that Allah has power and vengeance which are not far from the wrongdoers. Once when he insisted on his warning, I hit him. He then promised to make a prayer against me in the Holy Mosque, so he came to the Holy Mosque in Makka and prayed to Allah to punish me. As soon as he finished his prayer, the right side of my body became stiff and paralysed. I immediately repented from what I had done and begged my father to forgive me. When he calmed down, he promised to go to Makka to pray for me in the same place. I prepared for him a camel for transport, but when he mounted the camel, it made a violent move and he fell on a rock and died instantly.
Hadrat Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib said to him: "Allah is pleased with you if your father was pleased with you." The man said: By Allah he was pleased with me when he died. So, Imam Ali stood up and started praying a few rak'at then made a dua in silence, then said: O Mubarak! Stand up and walk. The man stood up and walked normally and returned to his full health. Then Imam Ali said: "Had you not sworn that your father was pleased with I would not have prayed for you."
